For everyone
Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to read and hear the Bible here.
What we aim for
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. We check colour contrast in both reading modes, make every control work with a keyboard, give every image a text description (lesson slides carry their full text), respect "reduce motion", and run automated accessibility checks on our main pages.
Features that help
- Read aloud with your device's own voice, verse by verse, highlighting the verse being read.
- Light reading mode (in the footer) and large, clear type.
- Modern-word search: search for "anxious" and we find the King James word "careful".
Known limits
- Word-by-word highlighting while reading aloud depends on your browser; we always highlight the current verse.
- Inside some apps' built-in browsers (for example TikTok on Android), read-aloud is not available. Open the page in your browser to listen.
